The 20 dollar gold coin was put into circulation for the first time in 1850 and minted until 1933. Only two models of this coin were created: the “Liberté” and the “Saint-Gaudens”.
The 1933 double eagle is a twenty dollar gold coin from the United States. A copy of that coin hit – at Sotheby’s – the highest amount ever at a coin auction: the coin was bought for $ 7.59 million in 2002.
